Professional Learning - Teachers and Educators of Children 4 - 8 years
Gowrie Training offers Short Courses and Conferences designed specifically for Kindergarten to Grade 2 Teachers and Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) practitioners. The full program contains a wide range of topics to inspire teachers and educators. With so much change taking place in the education of the early years, the value of undertaking Professional Learning cannot be underestimated.
Face to face courses are delivered at our training rooms in Carlton North and Docklands.
In 2011, Gowrie Training launched eLearning, an online classroom providing flexible access to short courses for teachers and educators who may otherwise miss out.
What is eLearning?
eLearning takes place in a virtual classroom and offers flexible learning from anywhere. This eliminates the travel, CRT (Causal Relief Teacher) costs and saves time.
Once you register for your short course via the online booking calendar, you will be sent a confirmation of your booking. If this is your first online course, you will receive a headset with microphone, allowing you to listen and participate in the online classroom.
Our eLearning courses are interactive and use learning tools such as slides, presentations videos and digital whiteboard. There are opportunities to interact with the presenter and ask questions.
Technical support is available before and during a course to help log in and offer assistance in any queries.
To participate in eLearning you will require a computer, internet access (dial-up, broadband or wireless) and a microphone headset. You will also require a software program called Java, which is available free online. Instructions on how to install Java are sent prior to your course start date.
Customised Training
Customisd training programs are available to meet specific needs and diverse contexts. Customised training is delivered at time and place convenient to your kindergarten or school and topics can be selected from our list of short courses or designed especially for your environment. Customised Training can be delivered face-to-face or via eLearning.
Your 2012 Professional Learning Guide for Teachers and Educators 5 - 8 years will arrive at your school at the end of January. The 2012 course details will be available in our calendar and online bookings open from January. Updates will be posted on the website.
