Certificate IV in Children's Services OSHC

A Certificate IV in Children's Services (Outside School Hours Care) provides you with the skills and knowledge to work in vacation programs as well as before and after school hours care programs. 

The course is designed for individuals working in a full-time, part-time or on a voluntary basis as assistants in a range of school aged settings, including before and after school care, holiday/vacation programs and school-aged services. You will learn to plan activities, provide care for children and facilitate leisure and play that enable them to achieve their developmental best. 

From 2014, the Certificate III in Children's Services or the Certificate IV in Children's Services (Outside School Hours Care) is the minimum qualification required to work in Outside School Hours Care.

Duration
  • Total duration is six months including a work placement of a minimum of 200 hours.
  • Part-time study options are available
Delivery Methods
  • This course is offered as on the job training with optional class attendance for selected units.
  • Your training is supported by a Gowrie Victoria trainer, ensuring you are receiving a combination of theory and practice.
Fees
  • State and Federal Funded Students  $500.00
  • Fee for Service Students   $3200.00
  • Fees Includes a First Aid Certificate, all books and materials. Payment plans are available
