Gowrie Victoria proud to present at 2010 Innovation Showcase.

Carol I’Anson, General Manager Family and Children Services together with Catharine Hydon, Early Childhood Consultant were part of the Early Years panel with a presentation, entitled ‘Transforming Practice, Supporting Change’.  The presentation profile provides you with a taste of the information they discussed:

“Early childhood education and care in Victoria is at a crucial point. The Victorian and National Early Years Learning Frameworks will drive educators and organisations to improve their programs or risk failing to deliver quality outcomes. Last year, Gowrie Victoria put forward the idea of a think-tank and established a Pedagogical Reference Group offering pedagogical leadership. The presenters will share with you how strong support mechanisms can help educators achieve excellence.”

The presentation was shared with the 700 local, interstate and international educators who attended the showcase and those who participated online.  If you would like to view the presentation and learn more about our approach to pedagogical leadership click here.

QIAS Action Plan Resource
This resource has been developed to assist services with writing an “Action Plan”.  This is a requirement for services that have not achieved accreditation status on two consecutive occasions.  This resource provides services with a template, that when completed with full details, will satisfy the departments requirements for a ‘properly completed action plan’.
Along with the template, you will find some completed examples, which have been provided to demonstrate the type of detail required.

There are two documents to download:

1. QIAS Action Plan Document (PDF) – provides background information, instructions for use and samples of completed plans; and
2.
Sample Action Plan Template (word document) – template for you to use for your Action Plans.

You can obtain a hard copy of this resource from Gowrie Victoria Resource Centre.  If you require any further information or support in the writing of your Action Plan please contact the QIAS Support Worker at Gowrie Victoria on 03 9362 2255.
