Theory into Practice sessions are a unique opportunity for early childhood staff and students to view
and discuss the children’s program at both Carlton North and The Harbour Family and Children's centre in Docklands.
The sessions include:
- Observing the children’s rooms and program through our observation booths.
- Discuss theory and how it is implemented in practice.
- A tour of the children's gardens and outdoor play spaces.
- A visit to Gowrie Resources (specialist early childhood Bookshop and Library)
Sessions will explore specific aspects of the children’s program including the physical environment, play experiences, routines, partnerships and an overview of documentation. These sessions provide opportunities to reflect and reassess current philosophy and practice, inspire and enhance programs through new ideas and strategies.
Theory into Practice sessions are held during the week, with a few sessions each year scheduled on Saturdays. Customised sessions can be arranged if scheduled dates are unsuitable. Please call one of our reception staff to discuss your requirements.
