The Consultancy Support Program
This is a 6 month program designed to support the capacity of 50 Victorian Early and Middle Childhood services. The aim of the program is to develop leadership capacity within the service, and to support the service to develop or revise their Quality Improvement Plan coupled with the provision of ongoing support to implement the actions identified in the plan.
On completion of the program services will receive continued support through the extended Victorian Early Years Coaching Program.
Future Leaders in Early Childhood Pilot Program
The Future Leader program will provide a cohort of high-performing students indertaking dual early childhood qualifications with a program of professional learning including mentoring. The aim of the program is to encourage a greater number of dual qualified students to choose a career in early childhood.
The program will also contribute to the creation of an early childhood 'brand' and raise awareness among university students of the unique rewards and benefits of a career in early childhood.
This program will be offered to 20 students currently undertaking a dual early childhood/primary teaching degree at 8 indentified universities.
NQF Trial Support
Fourteen early and middle childhood education and care services have been invited by DEECD to participate in this support project. The program has been developed to provide a responsive follow-up support program for targeted services who have participated in Phase 2 of the NQF Assessment and Ratings Trial Process.
The project will include identifying a potential model for ongoing support for services participating in NQF and beyond.
Workshops for School Aged Care services
A series of workshops will be offered across metropolitan, rural and regional Victoria.
The workshops are designed to support school aged care service to develop educational programming and practice consistent with the requirements of the My Time Our Place - Framework for School Age Care in Australia and other approved frameworks including the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
Professional development and support for family day care field workers.
This professional learning program aims to support family day care services to develop quality educational programming and practice consistent with the requirements of the National Quality Framework, the Early Years Learning Framework, the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and where appropriate the Framework for School Aged Care.
RCC/RPL places for School Aged Educators and Family Day Care Educators and Practitioners
This program will provide 30 school aged care educators and a further 15 family day care educators and practitioners with access to a comprehensive Recognition of Prior Learning program for certificate III and IV. Applicants will apply to the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development for selection into the program.
