The Board
The Gowrie Victoria governance model provides a framework for the relationship between 'governance' (the practices of directorship) and 'management' (the practices of employees). Further it defines the role of the board: to set the strategic direction and guiding principles and policies for the organisation; to delegate responsibility and authority to those who are responsible for enacting the direction, principles and policies; to monitor compliance of those enacting the direction, principles and policies; to ensure that staff, and board alike are held accountable for their performance.
